“Ming Wah has fed Saint-Jérôme since 1992. We set a long table, we fill it every day, and we hope you leave happy.”

The beginning

A family and a long table

In 1992, [founder names] opened Ming Wah on boulevard des Laurentides. They had [cooked in Montréal for years / come from Hong Kong or Guangdong], and they wanted a place where a whole family could eat well together without anyone settling for one dish.

So they built a buffet: long steam tables, a soup station, and a kitchen that kept fresh trays coming all evening.

The kitchen

Made the way it has always been made

Our soups start from broths we make ourselves. The General Tao, the Soo Guy and the sweet garlic spareribs are the same recipes regulars have ordered for [decades].

We've added things over the years, like weekend sushi boxes and a Thai chickpea salad. The classics stay the way people remember them.

A new dining room

Same kitchen, new room

In 2026 we [renovated the dining room]: warm wood, cane screens and soft light, with more room at the table.

Kids who came for birthday dinners in the 90s now bring their own. Many of our staff have been here for [X] years and know the regulars by name.
